Puri is the heaven of Orissa. Puri is considered a holy place of pilgrimage in India. It is famous for “world famous Jagannath Temple” (Bada Deula), “konark temple”, for beautiful sea beach etc. This beautiful place situated at eastern part of India, and the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Puri is 60 K.M far from Bhubaneswar (The capital of Orissa).

Jagannath temple: Jagannath temple is famous temple in all over the world. This temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath (Lord of Universe) (Krishna) . This temple was built by Ananta Barma Chodaganga Dev during 12th century A.D. and was completed by Ananga Bhima Dev. This temple is one of the tallest temples of the country. The height of this temple is 66mrs. The deities of this temple are made of margosa wood. We worship in the Temple along with Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra, Sudarshan. The food of the deities is called as maha-prasada/avada. This food is famous in every where due to the test. It would be difficult to explain totally about this temple

Ratha yatra: Ratha yatra/car festival is a major Hindu festival associated with Lord Jagannath held at Puri. At the time of ratha yatra lords of jagannath temple (Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra) goes to visit bada danda (road of puri). And after that lords are live on gundicha temple for 9 days from ratha yatra. After 9 days again lords are back to the original temple.

Raghurajpur : The Craft Village.

Raghurajpur is the small village of Orissa. But this is famous in all over the world for its crafts. There are 100 households in this village but more than 350 are artisans. So this village is named as “Raghurajpur : The Craft Village.” The main attraction of this village is “Patachitra”. ‘Patachitra’ is a traditional folk-art form of the East Indian state of Orissa. And now it is very much famous and likely thing for foreigners. Not only Patachitra, Raghurajpur is also famous for the handicrafts and for a living tradition of performing arts, known as Gotipua. Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra, a expert of Odissi dance, was born in this village and had his early trainings in Gotipua tradition here.

One small village about 20 minutes by road from the Jagannath Dham Puri has made its own identity in the international map of art and culture. Raghurajpur – the natural haven of artists.

Konark: The Sun Temple.

Konark is the small town of Puri district. But it is the ornament of Orissa. Konark is 65K.M far from Bhubaneswar. Konark temple was built by the King Narasimhadeva in the thirteenth century; the entire temple was designed in the shape of a colossal chariot with seven horses and twenty-four wheels, carrying the sun god, Surya, across the heavens. Sun or Surya has been a big deity for Indian culture.

Bhubaneswar: ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବର is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Orissa, India. The modern city of Bhubaneswar was designed by the German architect Otto Königsberger in 1946. It became the modern capital of the state of Orissa in 1948, Before Bhubaneswar, Cuttack was the capital of Orissa until 1947. Both Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are known as the "twin cities" of Orissa. With its vast variety of Hindu temples, Bhubaneswar is frequently referred to as the temple city of India.

1.Lingaraj temple:
Lingaraj means 'the king of Lingas', being the symbol of Lord Shiva worship. The temple is more than 1000 years old। This temple had built by the Somavanshi king Jajati Keshari, in 11th century AD। The Lingaraj temple stands majestically as the largest temple in Bhubaneswar. At 55 meters high, it dominates the landscape with 150 smaller shrines in its spacious courtyard and is surrounded by massive walls lavishly decorated with beautiful sculptures.
This temple has actually four parts:- the main temple, the Yajna Shala, the Bhoga Mandap and finally the Natya Shala. This temple has images of both Shiva and Vishnu. Vishnu is actually present as Shaligram idol.

2. Dhauli:
Dhauli is just 8 km far from Bhubaneswar . And these hills are located on the banks of the river Daya. The Rock Edicts found here include Nos. I-X, XIV and two separate Kalinga Edicts. In Kalinga Edict VI, he expresses his concern for the "welfare of the whole world". The rock-cut elephant above the Edicts is the earliest Buddhist sculpture of Orissa. The stone elephant shows the animal foreparts only, though it has fine sense of form and movement. It has another significance, which is related to earth in form of an elephant, and to that extent, elephant probably represented the Buddha to devotees.

According to the data of “Orissa tourism Dept.” Chilika is one of the No.1 tourist place in “Orissa”. The most popular shoreline of this lake is “Satapada”. Which is 55Km far from “Puri”.

Chilika is the largest lagoon along the east coast of India, situated between latitude 190 28’ and 190 54’ N and longitude 850 05’ and 850 38’ E. The lagoon is a unique group of marine with salty and fresh water eco-system. This is very wintering ground for more than one million migratory birds like "Little Egret""Night Heron","White Ibis""Black Ibis" like more. This lagoon is the livelihood for more than 0.15 million-fisher folk who live around the Lagoon. Near the village Motto, a 32Km long channel connects the lagoon to the Bay of Bengal.

Most of the people come here to enjoy the nature and to visit Dolfine. Which is the main attraction of this Lagoon, and some people come to Chilika to worship “Devi Kalijai”. This temple is situated in the deep of the Chilika Lake. This is a very enjoy full place. This temple is located near a hill. Due to name of “Kalijai” this hill is named as “Kalijai hill”. Here the evening is very beautiful. Most of people come here for enjoying this evening.
